"But Aunty, he said I shouldn't allow you to do any work anymore because you're not feeling well." Habiba furrowed her brows and shook her head. "Don't mind him. I just had a slight headache, but I'm okay. And besides, I'll just watch how you do it," she explained, settling down on the kitchen stool. Rabi'atu sighed, still not convinced.
She turned on the gas cooker and placed the pot on the fire. She had been teaching Habiba how to cook Nigerian dishes for the past few weeks. Habiba noticed he preferred native dishes more than what she usually cooked for him. Today, they were cooking tuwo.
Habiba sat there, paying much attention to everything Rabi'atu was doing. She stood up and went closer to get a good view of the stew she was making. Her stomach lurched at the sight of the stew, waves of nausea hitting her when she perceived the aroma.
