Chapter 80. The Truth in Bits

My eyes fluttered open, a sharp pain thawing in my head then I felt beads of liquid trickle down my skin; probably I was aroused from my sleep by it.
I made to stand up, then I realised that my movement had been restricted by a strong rope which was tied around my ankles.
I jutted my chin up and my eyes landed on a familiar face that caused more throbbing pains in my head.
Dante held a pail in his hands, flashing a cynical smirk that could make almost anyone jittery. I shook my head, pleading with my eyes that he should reconsider but he only looked away and retreated to the iron door.
"What's going on here, Dante? I'm supposed to be at my wedding!" I hollered at him in exasperation, but my angry outburst had no effect on him as his fingers closed around the door knob.
