Chapter 63

Ciara's POV

It had been two weeks and 14 days since I moved out of the packhouse and everything felt numb.

My body aches all over, there were bags under my eyes, and I couldn't muster the strength to do anything at all.

My heart felt weak and all I could do was cry and sulk and lie in bed all day.

Grandma Grace often came to the door of my room to check on me and today was no different.

“Ciara, child please open the door. At least eat something.” She pleaded, her desperation evident in every word she spoke.

This was a different technique from yesterday or the day before. It seemed she always came up with new ways to get me out of my room and I always caved.

“I know you're heartbroken but I don't want you harming yourself over someone who never cared about you in the first place.”

Fresh tears rolled down my cheeks as I heard her words. But she was right, Orion had never loved me
