As we emerged from the illusion, we realized that Jason’s men had surrounded the entire assessment base.
Aldrich’s jaw clenched tightly. “He didn’t take my warning,” he growled.
“I would say he took that as a threat,” Arsenio chuckled beside me. We had untangled our hands from each other and were staring at the men who had surrounded the base.
“I didn’t know he was this stupid,” Aldrich replied to his brother.
“I have always known that he was stupid and just privileged to be a noble,” Arsenio snorted and tucked his hands into his pockets.
I hoped they wouldn’t sense the fear building in my heart when I saw we were surrounded.
