Chapter 115. Defying the Darkness

Freya’s POV

‘Nathan,’ I growled internally, knowing Elara was lurking in the back of my mind. ‘How dare he, he makes me sick. Why can’t that bastard just leave me and Rufus in peace! We don’t deserve it!’

‘I know Freya,’ Elara responded meekly ‘But you’re scaring me, you need to calm down before this flaming evil possesses you fully. You’re stronger than this Frey, your heart and head can fight the darkness.’

‘You’re against me too?’ I said as anger fueled me ‘Why is everyone turning against me? Even my own wolf, I should have known better than to trust you.’

‘I’m not turning against you,’ Elara said, a gentle sigh to her voice ‘I’m afraid you could lose your mind to this darkness, we need to control it together.’

I could sense how my words were hurting Elara, but I was having second thoughts about her. Why was she suddenly turning against me? Surely Elara should support my new found powers, and this entity that only wishes to protect me.
