“So, how’s it going?” Milo asked, standing before me casually as he asked me the question. He stood before me, that familiar face of Rufus’s son staring back at me, talking to me like any other normal day.

I didn’t know how to respond, so I stood gawping at him, blinking as I tried to muster up a response.

Milo was standing before me, after acting so strangely and having Hazel sinking her talons into him, just asking me a casual question. As though nothing had happened between any of us. It took me back to the days when our family life was better. The days where I had just met Milo, he was charming and kind and the only worries were the fear he may have liked me a bit too much.
