The moment we stepped onto the university campus, every pair of eyes locked onto us.
I could feel the stares like physical touches on my skin.
My heart pounded against my ribs, and I fought the urge to shrink into myself.
“Just keep walking,” I whispered to myself, trying to ignore how my bandaged hands hung awkwardly at my sides.
