"What are you talking about?" The information that Beta Cassian had just given Gabriel was beyond his understanding. There had to be a mistake or a reasonable explanation for everything; it couldn't be true. He couldn't be going through this! Even though he already felt like everything was going to end badly, he didn't want to let her go by herself. Now that her closest friend was going through an emotional issue, he was unable to keep her there any longer.
