Chapter 205

The atmosphere was just as gloomy as the present state of their hearts. Simone chewed on her lips, hoping she wouldn’t end up tearing a piece of it off. Ever since the death of Douglas’s little boy, she has had to act concerned to avoid getting into Douglas’s bad books. It was most annoying that her victorious moment was cut short, and there didn’t seem to be any hope of it ending soon.

She sighed tiredly, looking around the room. It felt as if she was being choked. She couldn’t take it any longer and chose to visit Goomer in her old pack. It would make her feel much better. However, what worried her was how to tell Douglas she had no intention of running off; she only wanted to take a long walk for her sanity.

Simone cursed her fate when she walked right into the middle of a brewing stork between Douglas and Annalisa. Just when she thought there would be a way to escape, she got pulled back by Annalisa.
