Mona hummed to herself, dancing in delight as she moved swiftly around the kitchen. She was making Dylan’s favorite dish of cornbread and chili. She made the chili tasteful with a mixture of ground beef, beans, pepper, and onions. There was no doubt he would love the taste of the meal.
To avoid disregarding her parents by spending the night at the packhouse, she returns home every two days to spend the following days with her parents. It was time to head back, and she couldn’t contain her happiness.
Kate watched from the kitchen entrance with Jack. “She looks happy.”
