Chapter 206

Mona looked out the door, wondering when Dylan would return. She turned to her father. “You said Alpha Simba summoned him?”

Jack shrugged nonchalantly. “Yes, and I don’t think it’s any reason for you to be this bothered.”

“Of course, I would be bothered. If Dylan gets thrown out of here, there would be nowhere else for him to go.”

“Mona,” Sansan whispered at her softly. “Don’t raise your voice.”

Stomping her feet angrily at how unbothered her father was about her feelings, Mona went outside to await Dylan’s return. She saw a chariot from the packhouse make its way to the front of the house. Dylan and Foden dropped down from it, looking smug. She ran towards them.

“What happened? Why did you get called to the packhouse?” she bombarded Dylan with questions. Foden mouthed a greeting and excused himself.

“The goddess surely wouldn’t leave us to fend on our own. Alpha Simba said he was willing to help me because of some help I had rendered him in the p
