Trying to adjust her eyes to the light, Mona groaned as her body ached at her attempt to sit up.

“Easy there,” Mark’s voice said next to her.

Turning her head to the side, Mark was seated by the edge of the bed, staring right at her. Adjusting herself sitting up, Mona coughed out lightly.

“Here, take some water,” said Sansan, handing her a cup of water.

After taking enough, Mona handed it back to her. “What happened?” she inquired in a scruffy voice.

Mark snickered. “What happened was; you have left me with no choice but to leave for Dark Moon Pack. And for the sake of whatever you feel for me, Mona, please don’t make any trouble.” He attempted to leave.

Mona’s eyes watered as she held onto his hand. “Mark!” she called out to him in her most gentle voice. “I am sorry. I just don’t want you to have to be subjected to such awful treatment that I had to endure. Forgive me for causing you so much embarrassment.”
