Gia clutched the space over her heart and tried to rein in another groan. Her chest was squeezing in, tightening her heart, pressing against her lungs, and shortening her breath. It had been a month since these symptoms started, and she had kept them a secret from Cynthia and the Vrek Cult. She could never trust those snakes and always kept to herself. She was certain that if she were no longer useful to the Baron, she would have been kicked out long ago. Or worse... killed.
