Chapter 134
Lilian stood frozen in front of Lucien, her heart beating rapidly in her chest. She knew that she had made a mistake and that Lucien was not happy with her. She could feel his anger radiating off of him in waves, and it made her feel small and insignificant.
Lucien paced back and forth in front of her, his eyes fixed on her as if trying to read her thoughts. Lilian kept her head bowed, not courageous enough to meet his gaze. She knew that she had to face him eventually, but the fear of what he might say or do was too much for her to handle.
"Why did you do it, Lilian?" Lucien finally asked, his voice low and dangerous.
Lilian's heart sank as she realized that he already knew what she had done. She had hoped that maybe she could explain herself and make him understand, but it seemed that she was already past that point.
"I didn't mean to," Lilian whispered, her voice barely audible.
