Chapter 31
Daciana whimpered at the pain in her hands; the blisters burned from wolfsbane, and her low cries echoed in the dark cell. The look on Killian’s face haunted Daciana; her mind was in shambles. He stood there and watched her hands burn with a smile on his face, his fatherly traits gone in the wind just like her mother’s memories.
Daciana took on a look of longing as she stared into thin air, memories flashing back as she turned her head.

Daciana sat on a small stool as her mother brushed her silky hair. “Mom, I love it when you brush my hair.”
Her mother chuckled lightly, “I know you love it, my sweet child. Your hair is as beautiful as the rest of you,” she said.
Daciana smiled; her mother was her best friend, and she craved every moment she spent with her. Her heart fluttered at the compliment. “I got my hair from you, ma,” Daciana quipped.
