Jamirez walked down the hallway of the pack house, his mind plagued with doubts about Lucien and Sara's mate bond. Despite Lucien's assurance, Jamirez couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't right. He had been investigating the situation for weeks, gathering evidence to prove his suspicion, and the time to act was finally drawing near. But he wouldn't act on it until he knew what he was dealing with for sure.

He stopped short as he saw Lucien and walked towards him. As he approached Lucien, who was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, Jamirez cleared his throat. "Lucien, can I ask you something?"

Lucien looked up, a small smile playing at the corners of his mouth. "Of course, Jamirez. What's on your mind?"
