My eyes never left her, as I gazed at her still, sleeping form. She was so still, that the only way to tell she was still alive was the soft rise and fall of her chest. She was breathing softly, but my heart broke from how pale she looked.

I was angry, and sad at the same time. The whole reason she was even in this state was because of the dark king. He was tormenting her, making her stay in this state, and it hurt even more, knowing that I could do nothing about it.

The dark king felt like this untouchable force. No one knew were he was and there was no way to find him, or his kingdom, and that fact angered my soul. I wanted to bring him to his knees and beat him to a pulp. How dare he desire our mate?
