I ran, as fast as my quivering legs could carry me. I was too scared to turn back, but I could hear the shrieks and screams of the monster, right behind me. I could hear the sound of it crawling through the boulder, and I knew it was a matter of time before it got its hands on me.

My breath was laboured and I was gasping for air at this point. My legs were getting weak, but I had to push on. The images of my mate, and the sounds of their struggles replayed in my mind. My vision blurred with tears as I thought of their condition.

I wished I could go back for them, but I could only pray that they weren’t badly hurt.
