Suzie POV

I froze, my eyes traveling to the ground as I assimilated Elliot’s question. Why did he want to know deeper about my past, when it was something I did not want to share?

I looked back up at him and saw that he was gazing at me, expectantly.

“I already told you what happened. Do you want me to say it a-”

“Suzie,” Elliot said firmly, “I can tell when you’re lying. You don’t have to do that. Just tell me what happened between you and your father, and those Alphas.”

I gazed at Elliot’s, searching his face. Fear overcame me in and instant. How could I share such delicate information to him. Despite what we’ve been through, Elliot was still more or less a stranger to me. It felt scary opening up to him completely.
