“Suzie!” The sound of my mother’s voice rippled through the night air, drawing my attention away from the silhouettes.

I snapped my head towards the side and my eyes landed on my mother’s frail figure, dashing towards me, her eyes filled with horror as her eyes flickered from the barbaric warriors to me.
