Sarah shifted her weight between her feet, staring up at him from under her lashes.

How could Damon suddenly switch without even giving her a head’s up?!

She suggested it without thinking but she was beginning to think it was a bad idea now that he was here, now that his eyes, sparkling with such baffling excitement, were transfixed solely on her. He stared at her as if she was a treasure worthy of his gaze, as if she was the only person in the world. His face held so much emotion, nothing hidden behind a mask of ice.
