Chapter 32. Last Words

~3RD PERSONS POV~

Maldruid walked on his own into an alley with a letter in his hand, his face carrying a blank expression. It was late at night, and the sky housed a full moon.

The wind that blew softly across his skin was cold, but this didn't bother him, as his heart beating rapidly with axiousness was enough to keep him warm.

His eyes darted from side to side, and sweat rolled down the side of his face. He was seemingly waiting for someone to show up, but he was afraid coming here all by himself would turn out to be a big mistake.

“So, you actually showed up." A female voice sounded from a shadowy part of the alleyway.

Maldruid's heart jumped, and he slowly turned in the direction of the voice. Although his heart was filled with fear, his face carried no emotion whatsoever. As one of the council members, his pride wouldn't allow him to show weakness.
