Chapter 146. The Favor

Curtis's POV

“We all know of your mate’s crime.” Devyn would not shut up and kept running her mouth, “She is dead now.” She emptied the contents of her pouch, “Also the witch, Zelda.”

My wolf was lamenting Jazmine's death. He's upset with me, and that's an understatement. To stop him from seeking retribution at the hands of Dark Wolverson, I spent the majority of the time fighting him off.

I knew better than to charge into their territory and try to get that. Without effective plans in place, revenge was a sheer failure. And only one's cleverness can defeat an adversary who is more powerful and agile.

I'm compared to the mouse going up against a dragon. If the dragon is intelligent, then the mouse will have to outwit him through the cracks and holes, but where the dragon was foolish, a coy mouse can easily maneuver and outsmart him. Vance was a smart, powerful, and ruthless dragon.

‘Kill them all,’ my wolf snarls around the clock.
