Chapter 29. Frustration
Valen’s POV
My mind’s been stuck on Raina all day today, so I went for a run despite the wax-melting sun. Through the bond, I knew that she wasn’t alright. Yet, I cannot bring myself to go near her. It was not neglect when there was good reason to stay away. Without a doubt, she’d be mad. I expected to get a full dose of her flogging tongue when I saw her next time. I’ll deal with that when the time comes. The sanity I had was dwindling because of this shitty situation. It was radically breaking me down.
After the ritual, I did not mean to leave her without a word. I was going to apologize when she called me on the phone this morning but the mention of Vaheed’s name rifled my anger. It was bad enough that he was creating problems. I was going to put him on a fucking leash.
Today was one of those days when I refused to think of my harebrained brother. Fuck! What the hell had he been thinking about? Careless and asinine.
