Raina’s POV

"She attacked me." Mercedes lied, curling into a fetal position with her hand on her stomach, pretending to be in serious pain.

“That’s not true.” Again, the rage pulsed through me and I struggled against Valen, wanting to get back to hitting her. "Let me go, Valen. Let me go, and I’ll give her another good black eye."
