“Kókkino, I don't know,” Gustav replied with understanding in a low voice. His words lingered, heavy with an edge of doubt. “The sword should have taken his life.”
I swallowed hard and confessed dejectedly, “I wanted to believe him, but he can’t be the real Valen.”
