Chapter 4
For supper, Tracy put her Kaftan on again. I added my shorts and tee. Laura put on a shirt dress which did just enough to cover her for the family. We joined the others in the dining room while the cook served dinner, a pesto and chicken rigatoni, served with salad.
"Why are we going to Nana and Grandpa's house?" Franklin asked.
"I'm going to take your mother on an adventure, and it's one you can't go on because you're too young. But you'll be back in a week, and you'll go on your own little adventure," I said.
The cook looked surprised. No one had told her the head of the household was going anywhere. Home adventure, what can I say.
"Where?" Franklin asked.
"I don't know. Where would you like to go?" I asked.
"The Woodland Park Zoo," Franklin said.
