Chapter 25
The captain touched her earpiece and grinned. “We got her!” she said, making a fist.
“What?” the major said.
The captain snickered. “Advance team snipers have hit Tasha with t**** darts. She’s down. The team is going to collect her.” She looked at Natasha. “So much for your training. The girl may have power, but she is still not ready for the field.”
Natasha leaned forward just a little. “I do not disagree. But that doesn’t mean Tasha needs to be treated as a prisoner or a tool.”
“We’ve given her the best training, free food, and housing. She should be grateful. As should you.” The captain turned to the major. “You do agree, sir. Correct?”
The major didn’t blink. “She has had the best. But that doesn’t mean we can’t be a bit more flexible with her. We want her to be happy.”
“We’re soldiers, we follow orders, Major.”
He shook his head. “I agree we are. But Tasha is not.”
