Chapter 7

I was waiting for her to remove the other handcuff on my left wrist, thinking that she was going to finally release me, but to my confusion, she started walking away, so I immediately called her to remind her.

"You missed the other one," I said when she forgot to take off the handcuff on my left hand.

She stopped walking and turned around to face me. I couldn't read any emotion on her face, so I wasn't sure what she was feeling or maybe thinking.

"You're wrong, Jayden," she said.

"What do you mean?"

"I didn't have any intention of removing your last handcuff," she said, looking straight into my eyes.

"I don't understand. Wait, I thought you were already letting me go?" I asked, confused.

"The only reason I removed the other handcuff is so you can feed yourself," she answered, and before I could say anything, she immediately turned around and continued to walk away.
