Chapter 117

Her face falls at the mention of her father.

 "I will leave. I will be back soon. You did not have to bring up all of this." She says, standing up from her position on the seat. She grabs her bag and takes slow steps outside and into her car. The doctor has a small smile on his face when her back is turned. She drives home and sinks into her bed once she steps into her room. Her eyes snap shut immediately her head hits the bed. She has not had good sleep for a while. She is deep into slumber when her phone rings repeatedly. She tries to get out of her sleepy haze and shakes herself up. She picks up the phone without finding out who might be calling. 

"Hellooooo." She says groggily. 

"Am I speaking with Miss Emily?" A formal voice asks. She nods fervently as though whoever is on the other line can see her. "Yes Yes!" She says repeatedly. The voice hums in approval. 

"Okay. Alright. Lewis is up and is now taking visitors." The voice says. Em
