Chapter 139

Jacob wasn't used to having guards around and definitely wasn't ready for one who stood like a fixed robot.

“Can I say something?” The guard asked.

Jacob looked up to see that he was done with his meal. 

“Surely, you can say something” Jacob replied.

“I just want to thank you for the meal. It was awesome” The guard said.

“Oh it's nothing” Jacob replied giggling.

He stared at the guard who was staring at him.

“Is that all you want to say or there is more?” Jacob asked.

“There is more” the guard replied.

“Then go ahead and say it” Jacob urged him.

The guard nodded as he took his last gulp of water.

“It's nothing much. It's about Mia and her father” The guard began.

“What do you want to say about them?” Jacob asked curiously.

“It is obvious our boss likes you, I've worked for him for years and I must tell you. He rarely likes anyone.” The guard began.

“Okay?” Jacob interrupted.

“Well I can se
