Chapter 138

The road back to Jacobs's house was smooth and silent.

Jacob inclined back into his seat as he watched the trees speed past the window. He felt overwhelmed as thoughts ran through his head. He had to stay under Rodriguez's watch for a month, it did seem like a decent decision as he could buy time, and protection and bond with him while he thought of his next line of action. Then there was Marino who mistook him for Luke. A lie he didn't think through, perhaps it could protect him he thought.

He shook his legs violently as he clenched his teeth completely lost in thought. 

Mia took a deep breath as she put on her robe before storming out of the room. 

“Good morning Ma'am” a guard greeted.

Mia ignored him as she went in search of her father.

After searching with no success at his usual spot, Mia turned around towards another guard.

“You, have you seen my father?” Mia asked.

“Ma'am he's in the garden” The guard replied.

“Garden?”
