Chapter 41

Emily does not like to hear she can not do something. Then, she will do everything in her power to do that thing. So, Lewis telling her she is not strong enough to share the story of her fall from the top of the social ladder will make her do just that. 

"How dare you? I am not sensitive. I am not a baby. I was not kicked out. Due to my ex husband's stupid dignity, our divorce went public and I was painted as the wife of the villain. Or ex-wife of a villain. It was a lot of bad press and those bitches whom I shared my beach house at Saint Tropez with stabbed me right in my face. Can you believe it. Now, Chantel is all they are talking about. They just can not get her name out of their sleazy, back stabbing mouths. I went through a lot, Lew." She almost begins fake crying but stops at the sniffling bit. Lewis acts like the comforting friend and moves closer to her, he places an arm around her. 

"Oh dear, sorry about all of that. Your ex husband… what did he do?"
