Chapter 34. The Manipulator
MORGANA’S POV
Ever since the alpha came to me with his pathetic apology, I haven’t been able to think of anything else. It made me so angry that he thought he would be able to wipe away every horrible thing he has ever done with an apology.
But talking to him like that made me realize one thing. He was genuine. All this time I’ve been telling myself that he was just using me, manipulating me, but when he apologized, no matter how hard I tried to ignore it, I saw something in his eyes.
It was a kind of softness and vulnerability I had never seen him portray before. It didn’t make me hate him any less of course, but I just can’t help but ask myself why now? Is it because the vampires are back and the threat on his kingdom has finally knocked some sense into him?
Maybe he’s scared he’ll die and he’s looking for some sort of redemption before he takes his last breath. It’s pathetic if you ask me.
