Chapter 30

Pollen's POV

"We are here, Ma'am, " Ken announced when we got to the city Park.

"Thank you" I said and quickly added, "I'll get the door myself "

I got out of the car carrying a shopping bag filled with junk. I had stopped on my way to get some for me and Mia.

"We are here!" Mia waved excitedly from where she was sitting.

My face immediately illuminated with a smile when I saw her. I have missed her so much, but my smile faded when my little sister, Laura, came running out of nowhere.

"Pollen!" Laura screamed my name in public, even though she knew how much I disliked that.

"What are you doing here?" 

"I've missed you" Laura hugged me unexpectedly.

My walls were broken, and my heart was softened by that single act. Maybe getting knocked up by Raymond and being forced to leave home wasn't as bad as I perceived it to be.
