I sat on the steps, waiting for Seraphina to come back after dropping Kalix off at the bus. She came up to me, looking really mad, and grabbed my shirt, demanding answers. "Why? Why, Cassian?"

"Seraphina, what hap—"

"Why did you tell Kalix that you're his dad?" I was shocked. "I didn't! I promise, Seraphina!"

"Don't lie! No one else but you would've told Kalix that! You did it on purpose, right? Because I asked for a divorce." I would never do that without her agreement. "Seraphina, you've misunderstood. I swear I didn't say it." I was telling the truth. I didn't do it.

She shook her head and said, "Stop lying! You did! You did this to make Kalix hate me, so that you could take him away from me! I didn't know you could go this low!"
