On the way to the hotel, Alice smiled as she watched Edmund stroke Sky’s cheek. The little girl was sleeping on his lap, her mouth slightly open.

“What did you say to her in the park? When I came back, she was cheerful again. Even shopping and eating didn’t tire her out,” Alice whispered.
