It felt like I was being watched — followed, even, and I was trying so hard, so goddamn hard to act normal, because one wrong move and this whole plan would go to trash.
“Breathe, babe. Relax your shoulders,” Aaron said. I straightened my shoulders and raised my chin.
They’d given me an interceptor so we could maintain communication without anyone noticing, and it helped because I needed to know I wasn’t alone.
