Teyana’s POV
Immediately after Carol left, I couldn’t keep still. I was going to do as she advised. I belong to Zayne now. The earlier I accepted that, the better. But I still had to see him—to see that he was going to be alright.
My mom had given me the address that morning after breakfast, saying the doctor said Jeremy was stable.
The drive there felt longer than usual. My hands were cold on the steering wheel, and I caught myself sighing more times than I could count. When I finally parked and stepped out, I stood beside the car for a few seconds, staring at the hospital entrance.
I hated hospitals.
It always reminds me of when my mum had miscarriage. I was only twelve and was going to be a big sister. But my mother lost her baby after a terrible fight with my father, and we ended up at the hospital.
