Chapter 32
"Where's Wyndy?" Austin asks when we get home.
"Alasdair's taking her home himself," Travis replies.
"He might be a jerk, but at least he's a gentleman," mom comments from the living room.
Whatever.
"So, did you guys find anything incriminating?" Mom asks.
"Not really, no. It's starting to seem like Alasdair is not guilty of the crimes we accuse him of," I say.
"Well, according to the law, no one is guilty until proven guilty. So even if he's guilty and we can't prove him guilty, then he's not guilty," Travis adds and we stare blankly at him.
"Since Alasdair is proven not guilty, I'll be heading to the station tomorrow to find out if the cops have made any progress in finding your invention. By the way, how's my car?" Mom eyes me teasingly as I give her her car keys.
"Still in good condition."
"I hope so. I'll be retiring to my room now, your dad's probably still awake so I might have to fill him in on your mission." Mom does air
