Chapter 128. Feeling Rejected

I couldn't stop looking at Asher all through the conversation in the sitting room. If he knew it, he didn't show it nor reacted as he paid rapt attention and gave the correct response.

I had only hugged him so tightly because I wanted to be in his hands so bad. I had not expected him to kiss me and to do it in front of everyone like that. I was so shocked.

'If the Vice President was killed then this sure confirms the fact that there are a lot of people involved in this crime in the council,' Lance said pulling me back to the present. 

'It would have definitely taken a lot of those high up to be involved before a crime of that magnitude is committed right under their noses,' Dominus said rubbing his face tiredly.

'Has his death been made public?' Maureen asked.

'Not yet. A friend called me to inform me. Besides they have a bigger problem on their hands with the early morning gift you presented at the gate. The whole place is swarming with
