Chapter 30. Who Am I?

Maureen's POV

We walked hand in hand to our parents' office not minding the glances we got on the way from the domestic staff in the house. 

Lucia followed closely and quietly. I knew she was nervous but she simply didn't question me. We had a lot of time to talk. 

As we approached the door, we discovered that dad and mum were in a shouting match.

'You can't lock my son away like a common criminal,' I heard mum shout.

'Why can't you be reasonable. He was going to mark his sister if we didn't act fast,' dad shouted back.

'She is the one you ought to put behind those bars. For all we know she might be a danger to us all. What kind of specie is she?' Mum said still on top of her voice.

'You need to calm down and talk quietly. She might hear you,' dad said pleadingly.

'At this moment, I can as well scream down the entire neighborhood. You locked my son up and you expect me to calm down?'
