Chapter 34. The Waiters

Maureen's POV

I didn't sleep the rest of the night neither did Lance. I didn't want to sleep and dream about the scene I saw again. 

I had never witnessed war. The feelings was so raw and real. I couldn't believe someone somewhere would be wicked enough to slit people's throat like that without remorse. 

Lance wouldn't stop asking if I was ok all through the night. I pleaded with him to go back to sleep but he wouldn't. 

Lucia too was very reluctant to leave my side but Dominus had somehow reassured her that with Lance's presence, I would be okay.

When it was dawn, we quickly got dressed and got ready for information from Grandma Gina. 

'This whole situation is making me anxious and worried' I said to Lance as we waited impatiently.

' You are not in this alone Reen. I am right beside you. So also are Lucia and Dominus. So please do not worry too much. Everything is going to be okay' Lance said reassuringly
