Chapter 49. Disgusting

Atticus’s POV

Pushing Eryn to the side, I step in front of her to protect her from Kyle’s wolf, but he’s not aiming for her anyway. I am his target.

He wastes no time lunging for me. Hero is laughing loudly in my mind. As an Alpha in training, Kyle should have been trained in battle, but this is just pathetic. His claws are inches from my face, and I swat him out of the air.

His body skids across the dirt, and a small whimper escapes his muzzle. I wipe the drool from his mouth off my hand and turn to Eryn.

“Show me to our room,” I tell her.

Eryn peers around me and looks at Kyle. A small smirk plays at the corner of her mouth, and Hero preens proudly in my mind. She is pleased with us.

Eryn is leading me through the crowd when Kyle’s wolf grabs her by the foot and pulls her away. I try to catch her before she hits the ground, but she slips through my hands. Her face hits the ground, and I can see the bruise forming on her cheek.
