Chapter 83. New Alpha

Atticus’s POV

The council room is tense. Eryn is glaring in Elder Bernard’s direction, drumming her fingers on the table in front of her. She hasn’t even looked in her father’s direction. By the emotions coming through the mate bond, I can only assume she is wishing death on everyone in this room but me.

Elder Bernard pretends not to notice my mate’s wrath as he struggles to get to his feet. “We are here to discuss the future of the Twilight Pack,” he begins. “Since there is no living heir to the Alpha, Elder White, from the Twilight Pack, has asked that he be the one to appoint the next Alpha of the pack.”

Eryn fidgets in her seat. She doesn’t want to tell Emma’s secret, but if it comes out that we hid it from the Werewolf Council we could end up in more trouble than we already are. I kick her gently beneath the table and she jumps to her feet.

Elder Bernard frowns as he looks at her. She is not the ideal Luna he would have picked for the Warrior Pack
