Astria’s POV

We all fell into a stunned silence as Daren’s words hung in the air. It was a revelation none of us had expected. Damien, in particular, seemed emotionally overwhelmed, on the verge of tears.

“Wow. I had no idea you felt this way about all of us. I thought your feelings for Damien were as far as it went,” I paused, genuinely surprised.

“Don’t be ridiculous, Astria. Just because I’m not as physically affectionate as you guys doesn’t mean I dislike anyone,” Darem replied, his tone sincere.

I let out an incredulous laugh, breaking the silence. “Well, color me shocked. Does anyone else have anything to say?”

We all remained silent, lost in our own thoughts. We were undoubtedly struggling with how to apologize to Daren. After all, he had concealed his true self to protect all of us.
