Chapter 48. Distance Apart

Nicholas sat pensively in Kimberly's room in his apartment. Ever since she left, Nicholas had spent most of his time here. He was reminiscing while looking at the woman's photo. Not infrequently, he fell asleep there. 

Even after so long holding back, today Nicholas could no longer hold back his tears. The tears had already fallen down his cheeks. The pain he felt right now was more stinging than knowing Briana had an affair behind his back. 

Nicholas remembered the first time he asked Kimberly to be his pretend girlfriend. How hard the woman initially refused but for no apparent reason suddenly agreed. Nicholas had considered Kimberly an annoying woman. 

He even blatantly called the woman, not his type. But, as time went on, I don't know when exactly, Nicholas felt Kimberly's presence was able to give its color to his life. Living under the same roof with Kimberly doesn't necessarily make him confess his love.
