Marcos POV

“You don’t belong here,” I told the woman sharply and she yelped, jumping a foot in the air. I jumped down from the tree I was in and she stilled. Her heart was beating so fast but slowly, she steadied it.

“Turn around,” I ordered but she shook her head. I walked toward her when she quickly turned around and threw two daggers at me and I ducked just in time. She was quick for a little thing like herself,

“Who are you?” I was curious about her and what are you doing here?” I questioned. The woman wore a black ensemble that covered her whole face except her eyes.

“What’s a human doing here,” I mused, but I was soon proved wrong when her eyes glowed red. I sniffed the air to catch her scent but she didn’t have one.

“You’re a shifter,” She only scoffed and got out a bow and arrow I didn’t see earlier. She aimed at me and I could tell that they were silver.

“Stay away from me,” She ordered, carefully trying to back away. Her voice mad
