Luis tried to call me after the gala, but I had already left in tears after seeing him with that woman, Vanessa. The name Vanessa left a bitter taste on my lips.

Today was the day of my nephew and niece’s pool party, and I was pacing the living area. My stomach was churning at the thought of seeing Luis again. I scolded myself for liking him so much. I should have known better. I should be used to betrayal after what my husband and friend did to me, but I wasn’t. I quickly wiped the tears that ran down my face as I went to the dining room to have my breakfast.
