Chapter 338. My Mate Didn’t
Apphia’s POV
The next day, I woke up feeling pleasant and my chest lighter. It is the first time in a week that the pain in my chest has eased up, and I don’t feel like crying. Usually, waking up is a difficult task for me after regaining the memories of that dreadful night.
I sit up and stretch my arms. My fingers reach up to touch my forehead. I can still feel Nicholas’ lingering kiss on my skin, and it makes my breath catch in my throat.
I slide out of bed to go to the bathroom, but I’m surprised to see a lotus flower on my bedside table under a book with a pure white note. I pick it up; it’s written in italic font.
’Good morning, Apphia. I had a lovely time with you yesterday. You only deserve the best, so have a beautiful day,’ I smile and carry the half-bloomed lotus to my nose. It smells amazing. I read the title of the new novel, Little Women. I’ve never read it before.
